We’re thrilled to be returning to @center_yoga_wellness in Clinton, CT to offer one of @amyippoliti ‘s absolute favorite modules for yoga teachers: Yoga Therapeutics for the Lower Body.

April 5-7th

This dynamic, intimate 3-day yoga teacher training will provide you with therapeutic knowledge and core competency that will set you apart from the norm.

All students will receive a 100+ page training manual and will have the opportunity to watch Amy work therapeutically one-on-one with real students from the community.

As an avid participant in fitness classes, I’ve come to appreciate the power of effective communication within the industry.

Along the way, I’ve noticed certain language trends that have found their way into the yoga world.

This is the first of a video series where I’ll shed light on the vocabulary, phrases, and expressions that are commonly used in fitness-related contexts and share insights on the fitness language you might want to reconsider using in your yoga classes and offer alternative suggestions.

It’s important to note that this exploration is not meant to criticize fitness instructors; instead, it’s about being aware and embracing a distinctive set of phrases and expressions that attune to the essence of yoga and distinguish you as a yoga teacher vs. a fitness teacher.

Her dedication, studentship, and radiant spirit have made her an inspiration to all.

In her words:

“I began my journey with Vesselify in 2017 and my studies over the past 5 years have taken me to Boulder, Seattle and Costa Rica to finish my 300hr certification. I have met so many other incredible teachers from all over the world along the way and am so grateful to Amy and the rest of the Vesselify team for their steady guidance and wealth of knowledge that have challenged me to move outside of my comfort zone and helped to refine my skills as a yoga teacher immensely. I am honored to have earned my certification through Vesselify and look forward to continuing to study with the school as a lifelong student.”

Most of us have grown unaccustomed to being still.

Most of us have grown unaccustomed to being still.

Especially if you were born after 1980, since you would have spent more of your formative years exposed to the Internet.

But even as a 70's kid, I struggle w/the pace.

We're so busy we barely talk on the phone anymore.

We're in constant multi-task mode—eating lunch while scrolling, listening to podcasts in the shower, texting while crossing the street.

Things have become so fast paced that we may actually confuse busyness w/ meaning!

In contrast to our information age, humans dwelled for centuries in quietude, sowing the fields, walking through the forests, working w/their hands.

Enter Restorative yoga - the remedy to a non-stop world.

The aim of Restorative yoga is to cultivate the stillness we’ve been missing and to make choices in our life that bring us greater ease.

Restorative yoga has been a huge support to my immune system, sleep, skin, overall stress levels, and yes, my asana practice!

💪🏻FIX TECK NECK & SHOULDER PAIN 💪🏻Try these simple options to move freely and improve your posture!!!

🧘🏾‍♀️For many of us the yoga practice starts with the physical body. When we feel low, depressed, and closed off from others it’s amazing how those feelings start to reflect in our posture.

💪🏻Try these 3 easy exercises to improve your posture, elevate your mood, and banish neck and shoulder pain.

☀️TOP 3 FOR BETTER POSTURE

➡️ Grab 2 yoga blocks and recline for 5mins (feel your shoulder blades melt either side and take your arms wide)

➡️ Pec stretch at the wall. Stand side on to a wall or doorway. Place your hand above your head. Bend your elbow. Anchor the base of your shoulderblade down. Then turn away from the wall until you feel a pec/chest stretch.

➡️ Add in cactus arms 🌵to your yoga sequences. This movement aims to bring the base of your scapula toward each other and encourage retraction (the opposite of desk posture).
