90 Monkeys Has a New Faculty Member: Carole Westerman, MA, RPYT, RCYT

You may be familiar with Carole Westerman, MA, RPYT, RCYT whose popular articles, Downward Facing Yoga Mama: Inversions and Safety During PregnancyCore Considerations for Yoga During Pregnancy and Yoga and Pregnancy: Supportive and Safe Savasana, have graced our news section this last year.

So, it is with great pleasure and pride that we now introduce her as our newest faculty member!

Carole is an ERYT-500, and is also registered with Yoga Alliance for the specialties of Prenatal and Children’s Yoga.  She is a Certified Childbirth Educator, and has experience as a Doula attending births.  Carole has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Psychology and has worked many years in the fields of children and family services. In addition to her full-time yoga teaching schedule in Omaha, Carole is also the Director of a 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Lotus House of Yoga, where she is part-owner of their three locations. Carole is on the Teacher Training faculty of several yoga schools and travels to teach nationally and internationally.  She has created her own curriculum for both a Prenatal and Children’s Yoga program.

Being able to serve special populations as a yoga teacher is something we strongly support at 90 Monkeys. Carole’s courses on pregnancy and yoga will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to approach pre and post natal, kids and family yoga and more with confidence and ease.

Carole’s first of these comprehensive studies, Yoga and Pregnancy: How to Serve Prenatal Students in Your General Classes, is now available and focuses on how to serve pre and post natal students when they come to your general classes plus everything you can expect as a woman progresses through the process of fertility, pregnancy, birth and the post natal experience. Take a look at the course!

For Carole, yoga is a living and ever expanding practice, that changes according to what is needed for the evolution of the soul.  She wholeheartedly believes that yoga is not just a practice we do on our mats, it’s a practice we do each day and with each breath. Living yoga is what resonates with Carole; taking the skills, challenges, successes, and experiences we have on our mats, and applying them to our everyday lives.

Join Carole on 90 Monkeys and be sure to leave a comment to welcome her aboard!
